I just had another visit with the new doctor. We went over some of the blood work I had done. My allergy test results haven’t come in yet and that will be next time.
She mentioned that I had some inflammation but it wasn’t anything major. Everything else looked good then it was time to talk about my thyroid.
At the last visit, she mentioned how disappointed she was at the endocrinologist for not doing a full thyroid panel like the first time. So she had one done for me this time. She also wanted to make sure I knew I have Hashimoto’s disease. It was also brought up that this disease is hereditary and that we’ll have to keep an eye on our daughter to make sure she doesn’t have to go through what I’ve been going through.
As for medication, she has switched me from 50 synthroid to 50 tirostant plus she added T3. This is to see if I have an improvements in some of the symptoms I’ve been experiencing. The main one is hair loss. I joke with people that I must be part feline since I now shed like one. It’s been four days and I really don’t notice any difference yet other than a little more energy like the pharmacist said I would have when I asked for side effects. She is giving me a month on the new meds to see what changes occur while also waiting for the allergy test results. I am guessing that since some of the natural dessicated thyroid medicine has some ingredients that are potential allergens she didn’t want to prescribe something that could make me worse. For right now, it’s a wait and see.
